The SOF JTAC/Fires SME shall reside within the Raider Regiment Training Education Group (RRTEG) , and will perform training, coordination and implementation of all functions, and all other duties, responsibilities, and actions necessary to support RRTEG activities.
The SOF JTAC/Fires SME shall perform all tasks associated with this position such as:
- Interface with RRTEG Staff and supported units
- Participate in required meetings
- Ability to travel TAD for up to 3 weeks IOT support Air/Fires Exercises
- Advise, assist, coordinate, and create training schedules, and lesson outlines
- Provide training and evaluation of individuals and units
- Teach and enforce doctrine, unit standard operating procedures (SOPs) IAW attainable/relevant standards based on the conditions set
- Teach and advise individuals in air/fires planning, deconfliction, fires tasking and effects
- Be adequately prepared for all training event(s) including being on time and with appropriate equipment
- Coordinate with RRTEG personnel to capture input for and the preparation of oral and written After Action Reports (AAR), evaluations or other required documents as requested by the RRTEG
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines
- Maintain accountability of assigned equipment, training aids and training preparations
Experience Requirements:
- Former Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), Warrant Officer or Commissioned Officer
- Possess SECRET clearance on day 1, eligible for TS/SCI
- Must have 6 years of SOF experience to include award and retention of SOF Military Occupational Specialty Qualification (MOS Q) OR Must have 12 years of Infantry/Combat Arms experience and have SOF exposure.
- Must have SOF combat deployments conducting SOF ground warfare operations or multiple combat deployments conducting offensive and defensive operations w/ combined arms
- Experience in Conception, Modeling, Development, and Coordination of Exercise Scenarios
- Experience as a Formal Instructor
- Current driver’s license
- Shall be required to travel up to 50% in the performance of assigned duties
- Previously certified and qualified as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor (JTAC-I) while serving as a member of the United States Armed Forces
- Experience planning, coordinating, and employing lethal and nonlethal effects
